Not for the faint of heart, Il Maestro rips aboard a Maserati 250F!

Le Mans, 1963
Quite different from how it is today…
John Wyer’s 1970 Gulf Porsches
A fantastic 33 minute film showing race footage from the 1970 World Sportscar Championship. Historic films from all the 10 races of the season, plus some insights about each race by John Wyer himself!
When Porsche built aircrafts
Sent to me by a dear ex-Porsche fan friend. After the kind-of-rough landing Zuffenhausen killed the let’s-build-an-airplane idea.
959: the supercar of the 80’s
The 959 is without a doubt my favorite car ever. It’s THE car. Earlier this year Petrolicious published this really nice video about it that I’m sharing here.
Silberpfeile
To drive a car that was basically an engine and a fuel tank strapped to four wheels over 300 km/h… And to do that while wearing a white overall and an aviation cap (but with goggles) as safety equipment?
Balls of brass. No, better: steel. That takes balls of steel.
One of the coolest Le Mans’ car stories EVER!
This one was totally new to me. Doing some research on a certain car, I came upon the story of the Whittington Brothers. Courtesy of VINWiki, if you have 10 minutes to spare, sit back and enjoy .

The Birdcage
The Maserati Tipo 61 Birdcage. A sui geniris car, and very possibly one of the three coolest cars ever to come from Maserati. From a time when it was still possible to make good race cars on a budget. This is one I’ll have to get for the W143 garage.
A very cool 9’42” video from Petrolicious. In fact, if you’re a gearhead (or more properly in this case, a petrolhead) you sure will find some cool and interesting stuff to see there.
The story behind the 1966 Le Mans Ford win – how 8 m changed history
After seeing this you just can’t avoid feeling bad for Ken Miles and a bit miffed at Ford for causing the Mk. II #2 to take the podium . Still, the best Le Mans documentary I’ve seen this year, bar none.
